Статья исследует место наград и знаков отличия Прусского королевства и Германской империи в государственно-правовом статусе правящей российской императорской фамилии в XVIII — начале XX вв. Кроме того, уделяется внимание отечественной и западноевропейской истории внешней политики.

The article dwells upon the origination of absolutism as a form of governance. The idea of sovereignty was borrowed from the medieval political thought. The political transformations of the early modern period transformed this idea into a form of absolute monarchy, which was associated with other revivals of imperial political forms.
