The research consists in a comparative legal analysis of protocols in notarial proceedings and civil proceedings. The author suggests comparison criteria that reveal both similar and qualitatively different features of notarial protocols and protocols of civil proceedings. It is established that the nature of the legal regulation of the procedure for issuing notarial protocols and court protocols differs in the degree of detail at the level of legal norms. The conclusion is substantiated that the procedural purposes of drawing up a notarized protocol and a protocol of civil proceedings are determined by the public legal status of the person who drew them up.
