The article considers the importance of GA resolutions as acts of «soft law» for Russian criminal law. Firstly, GA resolutions can confirm generally recognized principles and norms of international law. The author notes the special importance of consolidating «unwritten» international customs in GA resolutions, because this is the way how they become a part of the Russian legal (and criminal law) system. Secondly, GA resolutions specify the content of generally recognized principles and norms of international law, that allows the Russian law enforcement officer to use them as a guideline for the qualification of relevant crimes (for example, in Articles 353 and 354 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). And, thirdly, the adoption of GA resolutions serves as the first stage for the future inclusion of relevant provision in the Convention or the formation of an international custom.
