2025 is the year of the peculiar anniversary of such a political and legal phenomenon in Russian history, which in historiography is called the Decembrist uprising. Its causes, course and consequences are an important historical and legal problem that attracts the attention of researchers – historians, jurists, philologists and other representatives of the humanities not only in our country, but also abroad. Its relevance is due to the fact that the background, ideological content, essence and specifics of the events of December 1825 in St. Petersburg and in the country and the subsequent processes in the state and legal development of Russia have still been adequately identified.
