The article examines the main issues of the theological construction of the great supporter of Tradition and “fiery counter-revolutionary” Joseph de Maistre. It was based on the categories of unity and continuity, considered in the aspect of organic growth and teleological purposefulness. His conservative ideas had an important influence on the subsequent development of European conservative and radical ideology.
