The article analyzes the category of national heritage: structural objects, subject affiliation, relationship with other similar concepts. The author traces the genesis and evolution of the concept of wealth in history, analyzes its use in foreign countries. In his opinion, it is necessary to extend the property regime to all state property, it is ineffective to reduce property only to unique objects. The idea of the people as the legal owner of public property is criticized.
