With the support of the Russian Science Foundation, a team of scientists from St. Petersburg State University is conducting a comprehensive study of domestic violence. As part of this research, they are monitoring the application of criminal legislation in cases of domestic violence. Two of the monitoring studies focus on the application of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The criminological characteristics of these crimes are of significant interest. As part of the conducted research, conclusions were drawn regarding the characteristics of individuals who commit murders and inflict serious bodily harm that results in the death of the victim, as well as the victims themselves; the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim was established, and the physical condition of these individuals was examined; and conclusions were drawn regarding the number of previously convicted individuals who committed crimes.
