The article discusses the current, in the author's opinion, problems of traffic safety. The current legislative norms that establish requirements for the suspension of a special right to drive a vehicle are analyzed. The study highlights the problem of medical restrictions on access to driving vehicles, and also provides a comparison of the standards governing access to driving self-propelled vehicles. The author's proposals for improving the regulatory regulation of the suspension of the special right to drive a vehicle are given.
