The article is devoted to the consideration of organizational and legal aspects of the fight against disinformation and information manipulation during the election period using the example of the Russian and Brazilian experience. The Internet has expanded access to information and data, but it has also opened the door to new ways of distorting it. Recent elections in Russia and Brazil have shown how social media and instant messengers increase the impact of false information on democratic processes.
The author emphasizes the need to apply an integrated approach to solving the problem under study, including legal measures, enhanced monitoring of the information space to detect violations of electoral legislation and the involvement of civil society institutions.
