The article is devoted to the analysis of the doctrinal approaches of scientists to revealing the significance of legal regulation of relations in the field of safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals for ensuring environmental and food security, and to a critical assessment of the amendments to the Federal Law "On Safe Handling of Pesticides and Agrochemicals" that will come into force on March 1, 2027. The adopted legislative norms are aimed at strengthening the role of state control (supervision) in this area in the fight against counterfeit or falsified pesticides and agrochemicals, but they are not free from certain shortcomings. There are still a number of unresolved issues in the Law. This article proposes possible solutions to some of these issues.
