National constitutional acts form the foundation of the legal system of the constitutional state and, therefore, are especially valuable legal documents. Special efforts are made to preserve the originals of their texts, however, in the event of severe degradation of the texts, restoration may be required. This is especially true for acts adopted before the twentieth century. The article examines the peculiarities of the restoration of constitutional acts created at different times on parchment and paper. Attention is paid to the potential role of AI in the restoration of constitutional acts.
