Teaching the course of the foundations of Russian statehood has revealed the need to form the corresponding interdisciplinary knowledge into a single complex integral science. One of the most important components of this emerging scientific discipline is the knowledge of the evolution of Russian statehood, its genesis, and the fundamental historical transformations it has undergone throughout its history. This article raises the question of the “cornerstones” of this knowledge in relation to each past era in the life of our country.
