The article is devoted to the analysis of the legal regime governing the use of firearms by officers of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation for the purpose of suppressing the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles of various types. Based on a systematic examination of Federal Law No. 440 FZ of August 4, 2023, Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia No. 865 of November 16, 2023, the provisions of the Air Code of the Russian Federation, and relevant scholarly literature, the study identifies legal gaps and practical difficulties accompanying the implementation of these new powers. The article also addresses issues concerning the qualification of an officer's actions from the standpoint of criminal and civil law. Proposals are formulated for improving regulatory frameworks, methodological support, and professional training.
