The article is devoted to the analysis of the latest trend in the practice of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on resolving property disputes between cohabitants. The author examines the established legal approach that allows for the recognition of the right of common shared ownership of property acquired during an unregistered relationship. Based on the study of key definitions and rulings of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the criteria for proving common household management and contribution to the acquisition of property are revealed. Special attention is paid to how the position of the highest judicial authority simplifies the relevant judicial process and forms a new precedent that gradually changes conservative industry practices.
