The article examines the doctrinal conflict between universal succession and the personal nature of alimony obligations. Using historical-legal and comparative analysis, the concept of transforming obligations through their monetization has been developed. The study is the first to justify the application of the concept of partial preservation of legal capacity for the inheritance of future payments. Its practical significance lies in proposing specific amendments to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation that would allow the discounted value of alimony to be included in the estate.
