The article contains the results of a study of the relationship between coping and guilt in male suspects and accused men. It is shown that they prefer coping to “avoidance” and neglect “self-control”. They are characterized by guilt, a condition; to a much lesser extent, they suffer from violations of moral norms. Close correlations have been found between coping indicators; “acceptance of responsibility”, “avoidance”, “search for social support” and indicators of guilt, with the exception of guilt as a moral norm (its indicator does not have close consistency with any of the KPIs). It is noted that the key matching variable is coping “avoidance”.
