On-site verification of testimony in cases on crimes committed by a group of persons is often complicated by contradictions in the testimony of accomplices. Eliminating these contradictions through a face-to-face interrogation is difficult; according to the tactical risk doctrine, one positive outcome corresponds to four negative ones. On-site verification of testimony allows avoiding psychological influence of accomplices on one another and reducing tactical risk. Based on the study of judicial practice, the authors propose a series of tactical recommendations for conducting on-site verification of testimony in cases on crimes committed by a group of persons.
