The article examines the deep transformations of the constitutional and legal model of direct democracy in the Russian Federation. The author analyzes the transition from the Soviet model with a rigid structure of the political system to the post-Soviet structure based on civil society, multiparty system and ideological diversity. Special attention is paid to the concept of "constitutional crowdsourcing" as a way of uniting citizens, experts and professional communities. The ambiguous influence of digitalization, as well as external and internal factors on the transformation processes is analyzed. The conclusion is made about the dynamic nature of the Russian model of democracy, which can change while maintaining the basic principle of national sovereignty.
