The article examines the trends in the development of the institution of international legal assistance in the field of combating crime in the CSTO member states. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the provisions of the 2021 Agreement on Jurisdiction and Legal Assistance in Cases Related to the Temporary Stay of Collective Security Forces and Resources in the Territories of the CSTO Member States, as its adoption has clearly delineated the competence of states and established simplified procedures for interaction between competent authorities, which has directly strengthened the defense capabilities and legal certainty in the Organization's area of responsibility.
