The article discusses issues related to the activities of special traffic safety services in adverse meteorological conditions in cities. The Moscow region and the city of Moscow, which has experienced peak snow loads on infrastructure at least four times over the past decade, are taken as the base. Snowfall has a significant impact on the communication capabilities of the metropolis, which leads to the collapse of the transport arteries of the capital. The author examines the role and place of police structures designed to ensure road safety and organizations interacting with them to create conditions for normalizing the situation and bringing it in line with regulatory requirements.
