This study presents some jurislinguistic features of the terminology used in the legal framework of Arab countries, referring to the specifics of the Islamic Shariah (ashshari’atu alislayamiyyatu) as to the sources of law, their hierarchy and specific legal constructions in criminal law and criminal procedure. The name of the sources themselves in Arabic has its own connotations. The author has studied the legislation of several representatives of each subregion of the Arab East, focusing primarily on the regulation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (the KSA), the United Arab Emirates (the UAE), the Arab Republic of Egypt (the ARE) as new members of the BRICS strategic alliance, as well as states that have applied to join or have become partners.
