The study examines internal affairs as a distinct and integral sphere of public administration within the framework of modern Russian society. The relevance of the research is determined by the growing need to enhance personal, social, and state security in the face of contemporary challenges. The author substantiates the necessity of improving state mechanisms for managing internal affairs to ensure their coherence and effectiveness. The paper formulates the conceptual foundations of internal affairs as an object of state management, defines the main goals and functions of the state in organizing and optimizing this sector of social relations, and outlines the key directions for further scientific inquiry into the system of state governance in the sphere of internal affairs.
