The article analyzes the problem of opportunity of a comprehensive solution to the legal, political, economic, and organizational tasks common to forest legislation and environmental protection legislation, which require coordinated legal regulation. The harmonization of forestry and environmental protection legislation is intended to bring these branches into a balanced and synchronized position. In order to achieve the goals of such harmonization of this brunches of legislation it is necessary to ensure the formation of a unified terminological apparatus; to refine common and crossing principles of legal regulation; to achieve the uniformity in approaches to norming, economic regulation, and forest and environmental control and supervision; and to reach the unified adjustment on the problem of the compensation of damage caused to the environment, as well as forests and located in them natural objects.
