Based on the analysis of the formation, development, and transformation of the legal concept of "dacha", the author concludes that it remains a sociocultural phenomenon. According to the author, the "legislative heirs" of dachas are residential buildings located on garden plots, as well as garden houses that are not residential premises but can be recognized as such in accordance with the established legal procedure.
