The article presents a theoretical and legal study of the classification criteria and the nature of the sources of the state’s legal policy. The author analyses and compares the scientific positions of leading experts in this field. As a result, a multi-level classification has been formulated and proposed, which takes into account and elucidates various approaches, including the hierarchy of public authority, the sectoral principle, the time horizon, and the subject of formation. The article also addresses the issue of the sources of legal policy, proposing to recognise the system-forming status of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the specific characteristics of other sources.
