Modern realities, characterized by instability in the socio-economic and political spheres, emphasize the importance of the prosecutor's office as a key element in the lives of citizens of our country. According to article 32 of the Federal Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation" (hereinafter – the Federal Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation"), one of the areas of prosecutorial control is monitoring the observance of the rights of convicts established by the legislation of the Russian Federation. In the context of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as SVO) and partial mobilization on the territory of the Russian Federation, a large number of convicts have the opportunity to conclude a contract with the Russian armed forces and go to the SVO zone to fulfill their duty. In this regard, we consider the issues of prosecutorial supervision of the observance of the rights of convicts to be relevant and problematic both during the period of performance of military duties under the contract and after the expiration of military contracts.
