The paper is devoted to the study of two levels of regulation of the sports sphere: international and domestic. The article analyzes the influence of the principles of international law on the regulation of sport by international actors, and also provides an example of state regulation of the industry using the Russian Federation as a case study. The article examines the principles of regulation of the sports industry in Russian legislation and concludes that there is a need for active participation of sports entities in improving the regulatory framework and sports governance.
