The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, through the interpretation of the criminal law, makes the practice of its application uniform. In the process of clarifying the meaning of the criminal legislation, the Supreme Court of Russia uses literal and expansive methods of interpreting the most repressive legal act in Russia. The article describes cases where the Supreme Court of Russia uses different types of interpretation of the criminal law in terms of its scope.
