- The article studies the relationship between international legal standards for the protection of electoral rights and institutional and administrative mechanisms for their implementation in the legal system of the Russian Federation,
- which is due to the growing importance of international regulatory guidelines that enshrine the right of citizens to participate in the management of state affairs,
- and the need for their consistent implementation in national electoral laws. The theoretical and legal basis of the study is formed by the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights,
- as well as international standards for democratic elections,
- formed within the framework of the activities of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The paper analyzes the specifics of the regulatory consolidation of citizens' electoral rights in Russian law and reveals the role of administrative and legal mechanisms for their protection,
- including the activities of electoral commissions,
- administrative appeal procedures,
- and judicial review of the legality of the electoral process. The conclusion is substantiated that the system of protection of electoral rights in the Russian Federation is formed as a result of the institutional interaction of international standards and national mechanisms for their legal implementation,
- which ensures the stability of the electoral system and the maintenance of the legitimacy of elections as a key institution of democratic law and order
