The problem of the population size of the Russian state as a whole and its regions has always been and remains a priority for the state and regional authorities. The study focuses on a demographic analysis of the migration situation in the Zabaykalsky Krai. It presents an eight-year dynamics of key migration indicators. The migration outflow of the population of the Zabaykalsky Krai was stable over the period 2005-2021, compared to its closest neighbors in the Far Eastern Federal District. The negative migration situation is complicated by the migration outflow of the working-age and professionally educated population. The map of the Zabaykalsky Krai shows the territorial differentiation of the migration indicator by municipal formations as of January 1, 2023. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying and analyzing the specific features of the migration situation in a particular region, with details down to municipal formations.
