When referring to the definition of "national security," the concept of protecting the state from external threats through public law mechanisms of regulation traditionally takes center stage. However, a number of significant aspects of national security are implemented through private law regulation. In turn, the principles of morality and ethics serve as a fundamental element of private law regulation, providing a value-based foundation for civil order. . Moral principles are the core of the civil law system, as the goals of civil law are based on principles such as good faith, reasonableness, and justice: creating the most favorable environment for the development of economic relations and meeting individual needs and interests. The use of comparative analysis methods, formal legal methods, and general scientific methods of cognition allowed the author to achieve the goal of the study. The analysis of current legislation, law enforcement practice, and scientific literature revealed the influence of moral and ethical categories of civil law on the protection of national interests. The author substantiates the mutual influence of moral, ethical, and legal norms, as well as their fundamental importance for ensuring national security. In the discussion on the priority of using moral or ethical evaluation criteria, the opinion is argued that it is necessary to use their synergy both in regulating legal relations and in interpreting legal norms.
