A comparative analysis is provided of the contract of sale (including the supply contract), the work contract, and the previously existing preliminary sale contract for the purposes of formalizing transactions with future things. It is concluded that future things may be circulated through digital rights or an electronic bill of lading (if it is maintained on a distributed ledger).
