This article examines security issues within the urban environment. It critically analyzes the current academic discourse and existing legislation regarding the provision of urban security. Based on an analysis of law enforcement practice, the article proposes measures to optimize the activities of public authorities in this sphere. Particular emphasis is placed on the need to establish a comprehensive mechanism capable of addressing emerging challenges, dangers, and threats in order to enhance the effectiveness of urban security provision.
