Based on the material of the current legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of public health protection, a critical analysis of the main provisions that determine the content and importance of two medical examinations (forensic medical and forensic psychiatric) is presented, with the justification of the need to amend the text of Articles 58 and 62 of the Federal Law "On the Fundamentals of Public Health Protection in the Russian Federation" of 21.11.2011. No 323-FZ.
