Legal Regulation of Financing of Political Parties in Argentina
Annotation
Subject to the Constitution of Argentina, political parties are the main democratic institution. They have the exclusive right to nominate candidates for elected public office. The State guarantees the freedom to establish the parties and to provide them with State support, including a direct state funding. In addition, it should be mentioned that in October 2023 the President, vice president, members of the National Congress, and the governors of most provinces were elected. The results of these elections are important for the development of Russian Argentine relations. Taking into consideration the fact that the success of a candidate’s electoral campaign is determined be the effectiveness of the fundraising technologies of the party as well as the costeffectiveness of those funds. In addition, some provisions of current Argentine legislation and the peculiarities of their application may be useful to develop the proposals to improve the system of State regulation of the financial activities of Russian parties, ensuring its transparency. In this regard, it is important to examine the experience of Argentina in the legal regulation of party financing.
