The novelties of Federal Law No. 282-FZ dated August 4, 2026, “On Digital Currencies and Digital Rights”, have been analysed from the perspective of corporate law. The trend towards distinguishing the legal status of public and non public joint stock companies has been confirmed. It has been revealed that the number of legal entities that can operate in the organizational and legal forms of business companies has increased due to the operator of the information system in which digital financial assets are issued, an organization engaged in the exchange of digital currencies, and a digital depository. Continuity with previous legislation regarding special requirements for the property of organizations is demonstrated. The complex issue of liability is examined, gaps in legal regulation are identified, and directions for improving legislation and other legal acts are outlined.
