Relevant Issues of Labor Law
Annotation
The paper attempts to substantiate the need to establish labour law as an independent area of scientific research. The universality of the subject matter, method, and scope of labour law norms, in our understanding, allows us to conclude that this branch is unique, which in turn makes it possible to identify scientific research in this area of social relations as an independent field of study. The existence of an independent subject matter and method within this branch makes it possible to discern private and public elements. We believe that dividing labour law into private and public components leads to a diminishment of the independence of this branch. Indeed, private law principles are beginning to attract specialists in civil law, who, when examining civil law contracts, include agreements between an employee and an employer among them.
