The article examines the fact that the development of competition and the provision of economic security play an important role in the development of effective market relations. In turn, market relations that develop according to the right scenario lead to a number of positive consequences that ultimately contribute to the formation and normal functioning of basic institutions such as social security and social protection. At the same time, competitive relations are quite vulnerable, and these relations are complex and multifaceted, which makes them difficult to regulate and build, both from an organizational and legal perspective. It is during the formation and development of competitive relations that specific conditions arise for the emergence of economic threats and corruption-related factors. Consequently, when such unfavorable conditions occur, economic security as a whole is affected, and the entire economic cycle may be compromised.
