The article studies the specifics of the legal mechanism for the application of gene-engineered biological drugs in the therapy of rheumatological diseases within law enforcement practice. We found out that the issues of therapy with gene-engineered biological drugs are not sufficiently covered by the existing regulatory framework, and there are a number of problems in prescribing, procuring, and reimbursing the costs of therapy with these biological drugs. As a result of the conducted research, the author concludes that it is necessary to develop a universal mechanism at the federal level in the form of a by-law regulatory act governing the specifics of prescribing, procurement by medical organizations, and reimbursement of costs for the acquisition of gene-engineered biological drugs.
