Psycholinguistic Factors in the Recruitment of Young People in Radical Organizations and the Formation of Radical Views

Annotation

The article examines psycholinguistic factors that determine youth involvement in radical organizations and the consolidation of radical attitudes. Special attention is paid to recruiters’ linguistic strategies, the use of narratives of significance and victimhood, as well as the specifics of online communication in group radicalization processes. It is shown that verbal practices within radical communities’ act as a tool for identity restructuring, enemy-image construction and normalization of violence.
