Protection of the Rights of Consumers of Financial Services: The Experience of China
Annotation
Consumer protection in China exemplifies a dynamic and evolving system that integrates regulatory oversight, technological innovation in the financial sector, and public education. As part of financial reforms, the country has established a new regulatory authority, significantly increased fines for credit institutions, and introduced personal liability for executives of credit organizations for violating consumer rights in financial services. For the further development of Russia's financial sector legislation, the experience and leading practices from various jurisdictions, including those of China, are of interest, provided they are adapted to Russia's own legal, institutional, and social characteristics.
