Annotation

The article examines the legal status of a child in a school conflict complicated by the active involvement of parents. It is substantiated that, in such a situation, the child cannot be regarded merely as an object of parental representation or as an addressee of pedagogical influence. The child’s legal status includes the right to education, safety, respect for human dignity, expression of his or her own opinion, protection of personal data, and participation in dispute resolution procedures in forms appropriate to the child’s age and degree of maturity. Particular attention is paid to the limits of the exercise of parental rights, the duties of the educational organization, the risks of public discussion of the conflict, and the need for procedures focused on the interests of the child.
