This article analyzes the impact of low legal literacy of parents on the realization of a child's constitutional right to receive maintenance, secured by alimony obligations, and assesses the role of public authorities in minimizing the associated risks. Based on the provisions of Articles 7 and 38 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, family law, and legislation on the prevention of child neglect, it is argued that a lack of legal knowledge among parents often leads to delays in applying for alimony, entering into agreements that do not adequately provide for the child's maintenance, and a passive attitude toward monitoring the fulfillment of alimony obligations. This increases the risk of child poverty and undermines the principle of social statehood and the priority of children's rights enshrined in the constitutional and legal model of social policy. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of existing forms of legal information and enlightenment provided by state authorities, local governments, social services, and their digital resources. Based on the identified problems, proposals are formulated to improve public policy in the area of protecting children's rights to maintenance.
