Purpose. Significant increase in scientific journals, simplification of methods of preparing materials, development of artificial intelligence algorithms, inevitably increased the number of scientific articles. In relation to jurisprudence, such increase in scientific articles does not correlate with their quality and, consequently, demand. This publication is devoted to an attempt to understand the reasons for the current state of affairs. Methodology: dialectics, abstraction, analysis, synthesis, deduction, formal-legal method. Conclusions. Problems associated with scientific publications are as follows: 1) constant repetitions of the same arguments; 2) excessive volume; 3) lack of cost savings; 4) poor study of the history of the issue; 5) narrowness, or, conversely, breadth of the problem under consideration; 6) lack of own empirical research; 7) excessive politicization; 8) complex author's style; 9) haste in preparing a scientific article, leading to unjustified errors; 10) inept use of artificial intelligence algorithms. Scientific and practical relevance. This study of the main errors in preparing scientific articles in jurisprudence (using criminology as an example) should help young researchers overcome common challenges and achieve not only scientific results but also the accurate presentation of their findings that are relevant to science.
