Annotation

This article addresses the contemporary challenges associated with the use of information technologies to discredit the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation amidst increasing public exposure in the digital space. Theoretical foundations of informational publicity and discreditation are analyzed, alongside key mechanisms and peculiarities of misinformation dissemination in the digital environment. Based on the analysis of specific criminal cases and materials on administrative offenses, the legal aspects of bringing to responsibility for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces are examined. Special attention is given to an overview of countermeasures encompassing technological, legal, and educational strategies. Recommendations are provided for developing a comprehensive protection system of the Armed Forces‘ information space to preserve public trust and ensure national security.
