Professional Activity of an Athlete as Active Economic Activity
Annotation
The article is devoted to the qualification of the professional activity of an athlete as active economic activity. Through the system of competitions, professional athletes are integrated into market mechanisms, and therefore their actions acquire an economic character. It is noted that one of the most stable motives for citizens' participation in sporting events is the receipt of remuneration. The athlete's activity has economic value, which gives rise to an equivalent consideration – remuneration. Having conducted a comparative analysis of the attributive characteristics of the professional activity of an athlete, as well as the characteristic features of entrepreneurial activity (focus on obtaining economic effect, systematic nature, professionalism, etc.), it is concluded that they are similar, since both types of activity constitute types of activity of one type — active economic activity. The fundamental differences between the types of activity under study are that the mandatory form of conducting the professional activity of an athlete is always a particular competition (contest); also, the elements of "property liability" and "personal performance" do not coincide at all.
