Born in the Millennium: The Far Eastern Branch of the V.M. Lebedev Russian State University of Justice Celebrates 25 Years

Purpose: the Far Eastern Branch of the V.M. Lebedev Russian State University of Justice in Khabarovsk celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026. This article explores the socio-political landscape of the university's early days and highlights the pioneers of professional training for Russia's judicial system. The authors believe that preserving the history of the educational institution and the personalities of its staff is the primary objective addressed in this study. Methods: historical-genetic, historical-comparative, archival, and biographical analysis, in-depth interviews. Results: this review article summarizes the university's activities over the past decade. It presents key historical facts, indicators of its human resource contribution to the judicial system of the Far Eastern Federal District, and prospects for the development of the branch's material, technical, and scientific resources in the new decade. Discussion: the article reveals the university's unique mission as a "training ground" and an intellectual outpost of legal thought in the Pacific Ocean. The authors summarize the extensive work undertaken to train highly qualified specialists for justice agencies, highlight key milestones in the branch's history, and outline vectors for its strategic development.
