The article is devoted to the study of the legal procedure for concluding state contracts within the framework of the state defense order. The state contract is considered as the central legal instrument for the implementation of the state defense order, which ensures the satisfaction of public needs in the field of defense and security, the achievement of state policy goals, as well as the rational and targeted use of budgetary funds. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of regulatory procedures for concluding such contracts, taking into account the specifics of the modern period, due to the conduct of a special military operation and the need to promptly ensure the defense needs of the state. The article reveals the peculiarities of legal regulation of contractual relations in the field of state defense, identifies certain problems of law enforcement and justifies the need for further improvement of legislation aimed at increasing the efficiency, transparency and stability of the state defense order mechanism.
