On the Feasibility of Separating Persons Prone to Various Types of Auto-Aggressive Behavior into Different Types of Preventive Registration
Annotation
Work on the prevention of offenses is one of the priorities of daily psychological, pedagogical, medical and operational activities. The importance of the problem of suicide prevention in convicts is determined by a number of circumstances: the right to life is the fundamental and inalienable right of convicts, and therefore the staff of the penal correction system (hereinafter referred to as the penal system) is responsible for their safety, the preservation of their life and health. Currently, in correctional institutions, persons at risk of committing auto-aggressive acts are placed on the preventive register as «suicidal and self-harming». At the same time, the question of the possibility and necessity of dividing this category of convicts into two separate preventive records remains quite controversial: those who are prone to committing true suicide and those who are prone to committing self-mutilation (demonstrative blackmail behavior).
