The Relationship Between Economic Activities of Legal Entities and Sustainable Development Goals in the Context of Chains of Contracts
Annotation
The paper is devoted to the problem of the implementation of sustainable development standards in economic activity, represented in the form of supply chains. It is noted that to prevent and solve social and environmental problems, legal incentives are needed for legal entities to comply with the sustainable development goals in their activities, as well as to exercise due diligence in contractual relations with their counterparties. The article examines the European experience of the legal framework for sustainability in supply chains, where fines and other sanctions are expected for large European companies for violating due diligence requirements in the field of human rights and climate protection in relations with subsidiaries and counterparties. Since Russian legal entities carry out activities with a high risk of negative externalities and participate in supply chains as exporters and importers, they should have a legal obligation to consider the factors of sustainable development in the context of supply chains.
